About me

It was my father who drew my interest to photography even before I went to school. Therefore I always had access to a camera and took pictures very often when accompanying my father. Later in secondary school I joined the photography club of my school and learnt to shoot and develop films in black & white and to work with an enlarger in the photo laboratory. Fascinating times. Later I mostly took pictures when traveling with family and friends without any great ambitions besides keeping memories.

When I started to live and work for several years in Afghanistan I discovered photography as means to observe and reflect my environment more thoroughly and to compose photographs more seriously . More and more I found myself being fascinated by landscapes and nature and how to compose pictures that reflect my feelings in response to the impressions of the moment. Photographers like Adam Gibbs, Simon Booth and Nigel Danson motivate me a lot to improve my way of discovering the beauty of nature and composing my photographs more intentionally.

Photography is my hobby besides my professional work as a teacher. Therefore time is limited to follow my passion. Nevertheless , I would like to present some of my results and to share my experience so far. It would be great to get in touch with other photographers visiting this site and to learn from each other.
